Amethystpack Trails

These trails lead in various directions; through the forest, to the lake, to the sunning rocks, the camp, the howling rock, and the borders.

I pad through the Pack's trails. Often stranger wolves got lost and died in these woods. That was pretty much the safety mechanism. Flicking a rattle away with my powerful paw, I look over to Splash. "Hey, How're you doing, being one of the leaders?" I try to bring up conversation with Splash.

"Pretty good. I wonder what Nightpack is going to think of us now... Now that Deadmoon (Nightpack Alpha) is going mad, he's going to manipulate his pack to hate us." I shiver, remembering the cold stare of Deadmoon, his whiteless eyes staring so hard and so cold at you that you think you're going to go insane yourself. He was the very one who started the old war that ended five years ago.

"I know, but it's worse now. I heard that he's been throwing maimed pups and wolves into the endless lake." I shiver, again. Deadmoon's ravaged face kept on tearing his way into my thoughts. I shake my shoulders.

I shiver again. "Yeah. Must be fall." I lie, but it was half true. You're so stupid Sunny! Stupid Stupid! Never, EVER tell lies, remember?! I cough, ignoring the painful thought.

"Alright," l reply, but l only half believe it. Flashes of memories of Deadmoon killing some of her Pack, friends, and family, with her hiding behind a tree as a pup. Get over it, Splash. That was years and years ago. Now is the present, and you're prepared and have your friends. I look away a bit, trying to hide my discomfort.

I let out a small huff. Voice shaking, I woof "We may as well go hunting." I turn and see a small deer herd not far. Without hesitation, I bolt towards a huge bull elk. It kicks me in the jaw twice, which hurt a lot, but I tore off an antler and brought it to the ground in seconds, dead. Jaw hurting, I turn to Splash. "Can you take this home, please?" I ask, half a mumble.

I nod and take the catch home. I come back a few moments later. I stalk a medium-sized deer, my chest almost touching the ground, slowly walking silently. When I'm a few tail-lengths away from the deer, l run, jump onto it's back, and kill it with a quick but deep bite in its neck. "Alright, here's another catch," I say, satisfied.

"Alright, we best be getting home. It's almost dawn." I run back to camp, paws moving quickly.

I break into a trot when I reach the trails, my cheeto orange paws a blur. "Come on, lets see if we can harass the Nightpack patrols with your farts!" I crack up, breaking into a run.

I laugh and follow Sunny, smiling. I have a bad feeling for some reason- my stomach is in a knot. I just feel worried, and I don't even know why. Why am I so worried? I'm running by my best friend's side... really the only thing to worry about is Nightpack, but they're not too bad.. for now. I continue to run, my smile now fake.

We were halfway towards the border, when I smell something strange and skid to a stop. I wrinkle my nose in dischust. "Splash, you smell that, another wolf has been here!" I sniff it again and gag. "A nasty one too! Ah well, it will get lost eventually!" I sniff it again, analyzing more. "This ones in a pack it is!" I woof.

"Ugh, it's that dumb son of Deadpool's!" I snarl, my hackles raising. "I hate that kid, flicking his long hair saying 'whateva'" I sniff again, using my keen nose, identifying more scents. "Wait, this is a marker!" I growl. I flatten my ears to my head, baring my teeth and licking them. " I have someone to speak to." I growl and head in the direction of the troublesome Nightpack.
